Venus Villa works at the intersection of audiovisual creation, philosophical thought, and cultural activism, with a central interest in shared intimacies and the forms of life that emerge within specific contexts. The work brings together art and life through documentary filmmaking, writing, and research.

With a background in Film and Cinematography, the practice was developed between Barcelona and Mexico (2016–2020). This trajectory was later expanded through a Master’s degree in Philosophy for Contemporary Challenges at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

In recent years, there has been active involvement in Konvent.0 as a cultural activist and facilitator, contributing to the creation of spaces for collective thinking and artistic production. As a director, the work includes Discurs en Suspensió (2023), an exploration of community and cultural dynamics during the COVID-19 crisis (available on Filmin), as well as López López (2018) and El Tiro (2020).

Currently developing Liquid Landscape, an international documentary series that uses wine as a narrative thread to tell human stories deeply rooted in their territories.

Venus Villa's artistic vision marries visual allure with profound explorations of the fleeting and vulnerable aspects of human existence. Her work serves as a contemplative reflection on human connections, the beauty of everyday life, and the nuanced interplay of time and artistic process.

Beyond her directorial endeavors, Venus has co-created and curated residencies on Artificial Intelligence at Konvent.0 (2023), facilitated the Amplified Imagination workshops at CCCB, and spearheaded Konvent Ràdio (2021), amplifying voices and visions within the cultural landscape.
